So I decided to go out today and run a couple of errands and go to lunch. The cold condensing mist of this morning turned into rain early afternoon. By the time I returned to the vehicle at the end of the errands, it was raining very hard. Then the rain changed to freezing rain, not hail, more like sleet. By the time I arrived at the restaurant, slushy snow was falling. I considered going home because I did not want to be out in the wet weather, an hour later, scraping ice off the car windows. But I was already at the restaurant, and decided that not much ice would gather in an hour or so. So I went inside and had lunch.
About 10 minutes later, looking out the window, I saw that it was just raining again, and not too hard. So, I settled in and enjoyed a leisurely meal, which is what I was going to do anyway. I ate at my favorite Asian buffet that has quite a selection of seafood, which is mostly what I eat. I usually go off rush hour, take a book, and order a pot of tea, which I usually finish off after I have finished my meal. I did that today. So I was at the restaurant about an hour and a half. Which is usually how long I stay.
I hope I am not hurting the wait staff by staying so long: there are always plenty of tables available for other patrons, and I tip over 20%. I do not require a lot of service. So I figure that is a fair deal.
