This afternoon, as I watched the ballgame, Taki kept rubbing up against my feet and ankles. I decided that maybe she wanted to sit on my lap. Sometimes, she jumps on my lap, but more often than not, she tries to get my attention so I will pick her up.
So, I did pick her up and she sat with me for quite some time. She let me check her ears, and the sore under her chin which is healing, and although she did not like it, she let me check her mouth. I had to settle her down after that, but she stayed a while longer.
I am trying to work with her to get her used to being handled to check her ears and her mouth when we go to the vet. Last year, when we went, she became irate after having her temperature taken, so the vet said he would make a note on her chart not to take her temperature. Even with that, he was able to do some checks on her.
