Lately, Haiku and Taki have taken to sitting on the bed with me. Not just when I am sleeping, but when I am sitting on the side of the bed taking medications in the evening. Or when I am getting dressed in the morning and undressed at night.
The peculiar thing about when I am getting dressed in the morning, it does not matter which cat is sitting with me, she sits on my clothing, and does not want to move so I can complete dressing. I take this as a message that my cats want me to stay home.
Due to some health issues, and having so much annual leave it will roll to sick leave at the end of August, I have been taking more time off in the last few months. And the cats appear to enjoy my presence at home. And, I enjoy their presence.
Maybe they will be around to enjoy my retirement with me. I hope.
