I have not been opposed to showing a little bit of cleavage, but over the years, that has changed. I work in a men's psychiatric prison, and wear clothing that is concientiously modest and not meant to be alluring or attention getting. I wear layers, (usually a turtleneck shirt or a T shirt) for the practical reason that the building is often cold, and for the practical reason that the layers remove any nagging concerns I might have about a button or collar flapping open, and showing more than I want it to.
The other day, on my day off, I was dressing to run errands, and I wore a favorite shirt. The weather was pleasant, and I decided I did not need an under layer. When I saw myself in the mirror, I decided I was uncomfortable with even the small bit of cleavage that was showing. I am not a prude. I just have a different comfort level than I used to have. So, I put a light jacket on over my shirt!
