I spent the better part of the last two days doing some serious housework. Yesterday was not too strenuous, but long. I had some good rests, but did not get as much done as I had hoped. I worked hard today, but decided I needed to take a midday break and run some errands. I was determined to finish everything I had in mind, but it required some determination at the end. I was hurting really, really badly by the end of the list of chores that I wanted to do. I still have a few chores to complete, but I was determined to rest for a while. I stumbled upon the airing of The Sound of Music http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059742/ http://www.sound-of-music.com/
so that is providing me the opportunity to rest.
Earlier today, when I sat down to rest Haiku climbed onto my lap. I had planned to rest for just a few minutes, but the rest extended into an hour. It was a blessing. When I re-started my chores, I was not hurting at all. I know if I had rested just a few minutes, I would have been hurting when I started back to work.
This is a good lesson to for me to learn. I tend to push myself. But if extra rest will help, it is worth it. I need to plan for the extra rest in my self-determined schedule.
