The Eclipse in Lubbock
Monday, August 21, 2017 was the total eclipse of the sun, seen across the United States https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/in/usa/lubbock. In Lubbock, we were anticipating about a 79% eclipse. The day of the eclipse, it was mostly cloudy, but at the time of the eclipse, it could be seen. I did not see it, but someone at work had a viewing box and many folks did view it. Because it was such a partial eclipse, it was hardly darker than it was because of the clouds. In fact, on Tuesday, we had a heavy thunderstorm that blew through in the mid-afternoon, which darkened the sky more than the eclipse did.
