I took Sake and Haiku to the veterinarian for their yearly shots this morning. I did not have anything else on my agenda, although I had thought I might work in the yard, until the heat moved in.
The annual trip to the veterinarian is always a trial. Haiku hates riding in the car. Sake just hates the whole process. As usual, Haiku was well behaved. And Sake was a spitfire. We took the top off the cat carrier, and the vet covered her with a towel. Although they announce they prefer their techs to hold the patients, they let me deal with Sake. We covered Sake with a towel, and I held her down while the vet gave her the injections. She tried to listen to her heart, but that did not last. She did check her teeth when she was hissing.
Both Sake and Haiku wanted a lot of attention when I got home. We sat in the living room until after noon. Then I ran a few errands.
I realize that if I do not make a plan for my days off, I will accomplish nothing. I do not have anything special to accomplish. But I do want to get some things done. Maybe, I will.
