It is the Independence Day, and some of my neighbors are celebrating with fireworks, which are illegal in the city of Lubbock.
I can see them, looking askew from my window, better from my front porch. The air has changed to cool, and I was going to open the house, but Taki and Haiku went to hide when the fireworks started. (Sake was in some hiding place already. She usually is until she want attention from me at night.) I had the Boston Pops 4th of July concert on TV, and when those fireworks came out, Taki and Haiku came out. They are used to lot of rude and ugly noises coming from the TV. The concert is done, and I turned on the 1812 Overture, which they are also used to, so maybe that will help.
I would actually like to go outside and see the display, but I am concerned about the cats, and feel it is more responsible to be inside.
