I am a knitter. I have three cats. Two are older, and are not as inclined to grab and play with yarn like the younger cat is. In fact, the two older cats, even when they were young, did not show the intense interest in my knitting yarn as my youngest cat shows. When the older cats were younger, I would just distract them with some other yarn that I was not using for my knitting, and that was that. Not so Taki.
Taki can be in another room when I start knitting, and she just shows up. I suspect she hears the clicking of the knitting needles. But when she shows up, she is very intent on grabbing the yarn with which I am knitting. I struggle to finish the row on which I am working, then put my knitting up and get out a length of yarn, usually a small ball of scrap yarn, and just play with Taki. Sometimes we will play with yarn for a couple of hours. Tonight, she disappeared sooner than that. But, I suspect when I pick up the knitting needles, she will be back.
