So, several months ago, I woke up and found that the micorwave oven that I had was behaving quite strangely: It was beeping and acting as if it there was something cooking in it but there was nothing cooking in it. It would not reset, nor cook and it just kept beeping. I decided it was dead, and brought it to the city recycling center, and bought a new microwave oven.
So, a few nights ago, the microwave oven behaved quite strangely: I tried to heat something, but the microwave did not heat up. It ran, the clock worked, but there was no heating. I discovered that the plug was loose from the wall outlet. I disconnected the plug, let the microwave sit for a few minutes, and then plugged it back into the wall outlet. I ran the microwave, and lo and behold, it worked!
I was pleased that I did not have to purchase another microwave oven.
