Anniversary

Today there was a 20 year anniversary celebration of the Montford Unit http://tdcj.state.tx.us/unit_directory/jm.html. We are actually in our 21st year, but that is okay.  I was late getting to the celebration, but the room was full. The keynote speaker was hard to hear, because if she did not hold the mike right at her mouth, it did not work. 

One of the events was to recognize the 20 year employees, of which I was one.  We were presented with a really neat plaque that was a print of an etching of the unit on a slanted wooden holder.  It is suitable for a desk or table top. That was a nice recognition.

They served a pulled pork lunch with fixings.  It was a good lunch. 

Many of the former employees and wardens returned for the celebration. It was nice.
