The News on TV was Late

I no longer subscribe to the Lubbock Avalanche Journal so most of my local news is obtained from local radio and TV stations.  I was watching baseball tonight, but switched over to a local station for the news, which was still airing an NFL game.  I finished watching the baseball game before I returned to the local TV station to watch the local and some national news. The news was in progress. That was okay with me. I took my chances.  I am tired of a lot of the national news about the presidential campaign. It is such a gutter fight that it is disgusting and not really worth much to me.  I do not think either major contender, Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, can lift themselves out of the mire and into something ideal, grand or moral. But, I did want to see the local news, and particularly, the weather, because there were some showers, thunder and lightning but it did not seem to be severe.  This is a good way for us to get showers but no real damage.
