She led me to the kitchen, where there were several food options she usually likes, but decided that was not what she wanted. So, she went to the dining table and chose a spot on the chair next to the one I usually use. Taki joined us at the table. I sat with them for a while, reading, then took a brief respite, and returned to the table with my laptop as I had something else to do on the computer. Thanks to the miracle of wireless. And, I did not even move the power cord, thanks to the miracle of batteries. Taki was not interested and disappeared. I found her and brought her back to the dining area, but she did not stay. Haiku, on the other hand was very interested. She started playing the pen fetch game she likes so much.
She seems mostly just happy to have me stroke or pet her from time to time. She does not want to be held by me, but seems to be happy with the nearby companionship, which is often what she does when I am on the sofa.
So, now she is on the table, checking things out: the pen, the computer screen, my face. She is so sweet. Haiku is a great cat companion.
