I needed a carpet repair that I had put off for months, after the leak from my air conditioner, last summer. I decided it was past time to get that done, and sought out Home Advisor for referrals. I got two referrals. One gave me a low estimate over the phone, the other gave me a fluid, unwritten high estimate after he viewed the situation in person. I tend to go with low bids, but I did not trust the over the phone bid. So I went with Ace Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning. Before Hector started the work, we discussed the "fluid estimate" and I was satisfied. He set up a time, and called to tell me he would be late. But he showed up as he had adjusted.
He told me Berber carpet is hard to fix and do seams for, especially because some of it was unraveled in spots. Hector took a long time at fixing the carpet, almost 3 hours. But, when he was done, the area was fixed, and the seam was neater than the original one had been when the carpet was first laid. I am impressed, and gave him a good review on Home Advisor! He is a master at carpet repair, and he obviously took great pride in doing a great job. The price ran within what we discussed for an estimate, and I just rounded it up. He deserved it.
