Going To Bed Warm

It was a lesson I learned from my best friend from some 40 years ago, when we took a cross country trip and went to the Yellowstone, Grand Tetons and Estes Park.  It was a really good trip.

Early on my friend said we needed to be in our sleeping bags before we got cold at night.  She was right, and we did that after the first night we got so cold.  Our sleeping bags were warm, and we were generally comfortable.

Well, this month, with the cold weather, and the programmed thermostat,  I have not always gone to bed before I got cold. After I realized my mistake, I have been better. Some nights, I sleep on the recliner under a couple of afghans, since I read until I am ready to go to sleep. It is actually comfortable. And I stay warm.  I just do not hear the alarm in the morning.

Either way, I am warm before the house cools off, and I sleep better.
