Service Interruption

Well, after I moved inside last evening, I could not get the flat screen TV to work. Sometimes I shut it down with the wrong remote control, and that is what I thought I had done. But then, I check the other TV, and it did not work, either.  I did not have Internet, either.

So, I called Suddenlink, and obtained a recording that there was a service outage in my area, and they are usually repaired in about 2 hours.  Well, the indications from the TV were that the last time it was working was about 4:30 PM, and when I contacted Suddenlink, it was well after 6:30 PM.  So this outage took longer than 2 hours to repair.

I did sign up for a text message alerting me when the repair is complete.  They even allowed the option that if the repair occurred between 8 PM and 8 AM, did I want to wait until after 8 AM to be notified.  I think not.

I have plenty else to do.  I did some laundry.  I did some work off line, and I blogged off line.  I still had the problem with my mouse that I have previously referred to, but I can make do.

I never did receive a test alert that the problem was resolved.

I went to bed, and did not realized that I had left the TV on.  So, about 1 AM, I woke up and the TV was working.  Hmmm. That was a long outage.
