We had a storm last night. Around 6 PM, the wind, rain, thunder, lightning and hail blew in. I had the doors open so I could watch the storm. I know that is risky, but I did it. There was dime sized hail.
I put 3 buckets on the back patio, to catch water for the rain barrel: they were full, along with the one that always stays out. I poured them into the rain barrel this morning, about 20 gallons. I did not want a stray cat to try to drink from the bucket and fall in.
The rain gauge said 1.25 inches. The yard was wet this morning, and parts were still wet, tonight.
The girls were restless, Sake and Haiku stayed hidden. Taki stayed close for much of the evening.
There seemed to be little or no damage at my house. I am blessed.
A storm like this is not atypical for Lubbock, although they are few and far between. But, when we have a storm, it is often like this.
