I did not click to the fact that today was an anniversary of D-Day. Actually, the 69th anniversary of D-Day. However, I was able to attend the Silent Wings Museum commemoration of D-Day http://www.mylubbock.us/departmental-websites/departments/silent-wings-museum/home. They had some WWII vintage planes. I did not ride in one. Hmmm. Maybe I will in the future. There was a film about D-Day. I thought it might be the one I just watched on PBS, but it was different. It came from the D-Day Museum in New Orleans, http://www.ddaymuseum.org/.
The ceremony at the Silent Wings Museum was to commemorate the Breedlove Airport http://breedlove-cptp.org/Breedlove_Airport.html, the first commercial, official airport in Lubbock.
I am grateful I was able to attend the ceremony.
