I hope this link gets to the picture I saw: https://www.facebook.com/Inspiredotcom/photos/a.10152309729980361.927615.130380575360/10155061821775361/?type=3&theater
Before I had back surgery, I would sometimes think to myself "I'm not clinically depressed, but why did I not want to go anywhere, do anything, hide at home, not care about doing things around the house, drag myself to work, drag myself home, not want to go out with friends, and my social world became more and more restricted." I was not sad, hopeless, or feeling helpless. I was just in pain.
I was fortunate. I was stubborn about getting treatment for my chronic pain, but finally, I did get treatment, and ultimately, I did get relief. I know others are not as fortunate.
Chronic pain can also mean chronic life changes that are not positive. Support people in chronic pain, and encourage them to continue to interact with life.
