Haiku Does Not Like the Cold

This is the time of year Haiku starts to get cranky. She likes the summer months and the heat. She even likes to get in the very hot garage and sit on the warm (or hot) hood of the Vue.  I can relate to that. Sometimes I am so cold, from being in a super air-conditioned room, that I feel like I need to roast to warm up.

Haiku likes it warm. This time of year, I like to open up the house and cool it down.  I had the house open over the weekend, and the temperature got down to 70° or even 69°.  Haiku complains about this.  I understand, but there are plenty of warm places for her to sleep.  The cat stroller has a covered shelter that would hold her heat. She can use a crate in the closet, and it will hold her heat.  She can sit on my office chair with an afghan and pillow on it. There are several throws and afghans on seats throughout the house that she can burrow into.

When I had the waterbed, she used to burrow under the comforter and blanket, but she does not do that with the conventional mattress. She likes to sit on me or near me when I am on the sofa or in bed. But, she does not like to sit on my lap.

When I get out the space heater, she wants to lie in a chair near it so she can be really warm.

I am sorry Haiku dislikes that I keep the house cooler in the cooler weather.  But she is not being abused or neglected. She has plenty of warm places inside.
