Taki and the Yarn

I do not knit much any more.  I have a hard time convincing Taki that when I am knitting, the yarn I am using is not her play thing.  She has this special sense and knows when I am knitting, and joins me, trying to play with and chew on the yarn.  I have tried "time out" several times, but that only works for a few days, and then she is interested in my yarn again.

Well, this weekend, I did want to do some knitting.   I gathered my supplies and started knitting while sitting in the computer room, watching TV. Sure enough, Taki joined me and tried to get at the yarn.  I stopped knitting, and found two samples of "her yarn."  We played for a while with that yarn, and then Taki scampered away. A few minutes later, she scampered back and immediately attacked the knitting bag. It was like it was planned.  Very often, Taki seems to be developmentally disabled, but her plan to attack the yarn I was trying to knit with seemed to be very point on.

I was able to re-direct Taki.  Later, when Haiku came into the computer room, she also played with the "cat" yarn.  That was good. She was not interested in the yarn I was knitting with.

Later, when I had my knitting project bag out, Taki sought out the yarn that I was using, once again. It is like she has this homing device directed to the yarn I am using for my  yarn project.
