I have taken to leaving the front door closed. Tonight, I have it open, anticipating there will be trick or treaters. I plan to sit outside on the front porch, eliminating knocking and door bell wringing, which bothers the cats. But this is out of the ordinary for the cats, and Haiku gets really upset when the routine changes. She just cries and cries.
When I wash linens, and the bed is left unmade, that bothers Haiku. If I feed early or late, that upsets her, even though I leave dry food out all the time, both cats are not happy with me.
I am a creature of habit, so I can appreciate how disconcerting it is when our routines are disturbed.
