Boston Sports

Wednesday, April 26, 2017 was a sports special night.  I watched the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox playing at Fenway Park https://www.mlb.com/.  The Yankees won. It was a cold and rainy night, and the ball park was not full, understandably, but it was a good game.

Switching channels, and the Boston Celtics were playing the Chicago Bulls in the NBA play off. http://www.nba.com/ in Boston. If the weather was good, Boston could sustain  two major league sporting event sell outs on the same day. As it was, the basketball game was well attended and the game was a squeaker until near the end. Boston won 108-97.

Friday night, April 28, was a good Boston Sports night, too.  I did not get the Red Sox, but I did watch the Celtics win against the Bulls, coming back from being down 2-0 and winning their Eastern Conference round 105-83.  It turned out that the Chicago Cubs were playing the Red Sox, in Boston, and lost.  Yeah!

Okay, so living in Lubbock, Texas, I do not get much television coverage of the Boston Red Sox or the Boston Celtics, unless they are playing a Texas team, or they are having national coverage.

Well, tonight, ESPN covered the Boston Celtics vs. the Miami Heat http://www.nba.com/celtics/. They were playing in the TD Garden http://www.tdgarden.com/ in Boston, Ma.  I wanted to watch the game, but my first love is baseball, and the Boston Red Sox http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/index.jsp?c_id=bos were playing the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway Park http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/bos/ballpark/, which was covered on ESPN2.

Which game do you think I watched. Well of course, if you really know me it was the baseball game.

The Boston Celtics won tonight, 88-98 against the Miami Heat.

The Boston Red Sox won tonight, 4-2 against the Baltimore Orioles.

Maybe the next time one of these teams is covered nationally, the other will not be.  Oh well.

Boston Sports

As scheduling would have it, the Boston Red Sox are playing the Philadelphia Phillies on ESPN2.  At the same time, the Boston Celtics are play the Detroit Pistons on ESPN.  Which game do I watch?  Well of course, primarily, the Red Sox.  But I can flip back and forth between the games. So far, the Red Sox are losing and the Celtics are winning. We shall see what the final scores are.
