I am starting a week's vacation tomorrow. Work was extremely busy because of some logistics things and I worked more than 40 hours in 4 days. If I had not been taking Friday off, things would not have been intense. But they were.
So, today was my Friday so to speak. I thought Tuesday was Wednesday and Wednesday was Thursday, because my orientation to my deadline was it had to be done by the time I left work today.
I am concerned about how this is going to affect my orientation. Because Friday will be my first day off work. I am not sure how will orient myself. I do not have any in stone plans. Some vague plans to see a play, attend the Fourth of July celebration, and work around the house.

Taking a Nap
Since I was young, probably in junior high school, I have had a problem with taking naps. I wake up disoriented and frightened. I hate the feeling.
Well, this has been an unusual weekend. I went out Friday night, and because I get so hyped up when I go out, it was after 2 AM before I could fall asleep.
Well, this messed up my Saturday schedule and I slept in. But I was able to get my errands run, and stuff done around the house.
Sunday morning, the cats were insistent I feed breakfast at about 6 AM. I did not think that would be a problem, as that approximates our regular schedule. But late Sunday afternoon, after I did housework and yard work, I crashed and took a nap.
When I woke up, it was 7:17. I thought: "okay, I can get to work close to my regular time." Then I realized that the bed was unmade. Hmmm. It was only Sunday evening. And, I was still in the process of doing laundry.
I hate the disorientation that comes to me when I take a nap. Because of the environmental cues in my house, I was able to orient myself quickly, which helped a lot. But, I hate the feeling.

Losing Track of Days
During this holiday season, we have had a lot of days off. They have been interspersed with work days: Work December 23, off December 24-26, work December 27, weekend, work December 30, off December 31 and January 1.
This has resulted in my not really being able to keep up with what day it is. This morning, when I woke up, I thought I knew it was Sunday, but I had to review my Saturday activities, and double check, to make sure I did not have to go to work today. I figured it out.
I do not do well with change and lack of structure. I feel lost, out of place and unsure of myself. I do better with routine and structure. I try to be flexible, but still like the routine and structure better.
